This is a classic acer with beautiful autumn colours

Zone 5 - 8 frost tender.

Habitat deciduous

Slow to moderate growth rate

Good for bonsai or small or ornamental gardens

Flowers May to June with male and female flowers on same plant

Width up to 6m

Height up to 8m

Soil light, sandy,medium loamy

Well drained but tolerates even heavy clay soil.

Grow in or out of shade

The sap contains some sugar and can be used as a drink or concentrated into syrup.
